It is a type of document containing a description of the items you and your family own in and around your home. It is best to add pictures or videos with these documents. Why you ask...... Well let me just say that Insurance companies don't want to pay you money and it is their job to prove that you didn't have these items. If you have pictures and video they can't argue with what kind or how expensive an item was.
It is important to make an inventory in case you have a fire, theft, or some other disaster that you will have damage to your belongings and your home.
Most people think that they can just remember what items they have in their home without filling out an inventory sheet. Can you remember all the pairs of jeans you had in you or your families closet and the brands? These are things that have to be documented.
